Enrolling now for Fall 2025
THG Cooperative is for families with at least one homeschooling child. We are an all-ages co-op with class offerings from pre-k through high school.
Any Tallahassee-area homeschooling family whose oldest child will be at least 5 years old by the start of the next semester is welcome to join the admissions list.
Admission to the co-op is first-come, first-served and depends on the availability of space within our maximum membership.

We meet on Mondays from 10:45 am - 3:15 pm near Midtown Tallahassee. Each co-op semester lasts ~12 weeks, and we offer a spring (Jan-May) and fall (Aug-Nov) semester each year.
We also offer Community Day on Wednesdays for families enrolled in Monday classes. This optional day includes clubs, activities, and select high school classes that meet twice a week.
While Wednesday is optional for most students, some high school classes require attendance on both Mondays and Wednesdays. This will be noted in the registration information.
An enrollment fee is charged per family, per semester and helps cover rent, insurance, and other costs necessary to operate our nonprofit.
Our current enrollment fee is $75 per family per semester, with potential adjustments on an annual basis.
We offer a limited number of fellowship scholarships each semester. Families can apply for these scholarships during enrollment, and if awarded, the scholarship will cover the semester's enrollment fee.
In addition to semester enrollment fees, individual class fees are determined by each teacher and may vary based on the specific course requirements. The fees range from $5 - $50 for most classes, however, some specialized classes may cost more.
Some class fees may be eligible for reimbursement through SUFS or AAA. Reimbursement requirements are handled individually by each teacher.
Our co-op is secular, with no religious or spiritual basis in our classes, curriculum, or activities. We do not require a statement of faith. Our community includes families from a variety of religious backgrounds as well as those who do not practice any faith. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment.
When studying topics such as world religions or indigenous cultures and practices, our teachers take great care to ensure that topics are presented in a respectful and informative manner.
On a typical co-op day, families arrive, children go to their classes, and parents take on volunteer roles such as teaching, assisting, or cleaning up.
We schedule three 1-hour class periods as well as a 1-hour lunch/social break.
Families are not required to be on campus and participate in all three class periods. Some families attend 1 or 2 periods.
However, every child on campus each period must be registered for either a class or the nursery and parents must commit to volunteering while on campus.
Parent participation in co-op is mandatory and we do not offer a drop-off program.
Current co-op parents serve as the teachers for the classes and every class has an assistant. We have many talented educators in our community. Parents and children collaboratively brainstorm with each other for class ideas that fit their needs.
Parents who are not teaching contribute to the co-op in other ways, such as serving as classroom aides, participating in clean-up duties, lunch monitoring, and other volunteer jobs.
Before registration opens, we share the class schedule. During the registration period, children can sign up for their preferred classes via our online class registration system.
Registration typically takes place in July for the fall semester and November for the spring semester.
Note: Once registration begins, we do not accept any new members for the upcoming semester.
To join, get on the admissions list by April/May for fall, August-October for spring.
Admissions are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Class registration also follows a first-come, first-served system but happens in phases: teachers register first, followed by alumni families, then new families.
Our class offerings each semester typically encompass a mix of academic and enrichment classes, as well as access to clubs and activities on Wednesdays.
Past classes include: Fiber Arts, 21st Century Music, Civics, Speech and Debate, Climate Science, Drama for High School, World History, Preschool Science, Chess, Dystopian Books, Cooking, Geometry Art, Florida Ecology for Elementary, Circle Time, Ancient Greece, Board Games, Fairy Tale Science, and Hands-on Art History.
Fill out the form above. We start reaching out once we determine the number of available spots, typically in May for fall and November for spring.
